Food security & Houselessness Awareness Event
This event is scheduled for November 19th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Exhibition Hall. The event will include a meal and interactive activities that engage participants and promote understanding and compassion for those experiencing food insecurity and or houselessness. The event will conclude with opportunities for participants to connect with food banks/pantries for either personal needs or volunteering purposes.

The 2021, Thanksgiving Produce Drop which will distribute fresh vegetables and fruits from local farmers to help relieve Morgan community members from food insecurity. Last year the Thanksgiving our 1st Food Drop distributed food to 80 students and 25 staff. This year, the vision is to also provide access to fresh produce to senior citizens residing within the neighborhoods surrounding MSU’s campus.

Thanks for Giving Baskets
On November 18, home building industry nonprofit HomeAid Atlanta will partner with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association's Young Professionals Group to pack Thanksgiving baskets for families experiencing homelessness. A fundraising drive will be held prior to November 18 to raise funds to fill the baskets, which will contain Thanksgiving food items to feed a family. The baskets will be donated to HomeStretch, a nonprofit that guides working homeless families toward permanent housing and lasting stability. There will also be a second recipient of the baskets, TBD.
