#ShareYourTable

This week, please join us in asking people to participate in our #ShareYourTable campaign. We’re asking people to acknowledge the importance of food and housing in their lives by posting a selfie with their dinner table — let’s celebrate this symbol of home, food, and family. We’re also asking people who post a selfie to make a small donation to a hunger & homelessness charity.

The sample text below includes a link to donate to next year’s #hhweek organizing, but you should feel free to replace this with a donation link to your own group or the poverty-related cause of your choice.

Photo Petition Sign

For groups that will be tabling or doing other outreach, you can use this sign to create photo petitions. Print out this 8.5″ x 11″ sign, then have people hold the sign while you take their picture, then post the photos to social media.

Logo Images

We’ve provided a couple versions of the Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week logo that you can use to create your own #hhweek artwork.

Hello!

Every person deserves food on their plate and a roof over their head.

Unfortunately, hunger and homelessness are a reality for far too many people. The U.S. is the richest nation in the world, but 37 million Americans are at risk of suffering from hunger and more than 500,000 Americans are homeless on a typical night.

This week is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, an annual opportunity to shine a spotlight on the problems of hunger and homelessness and organize our communities to take action.

You can join the movement to end poverty. Just take out time this week to address hunger and homelessness in your community:

Volunteer. Pitch in at your area food bank or shelter. [Link to a local anti-hunger agency.]

Donate. Support local programs with food, clothing, and money. [Link to the donation page of an anti-hunger charity.]

Educate. Raise awareness about hunger and homelessness in your community. Post on social media about the importance of ending hunger and homelessness and tag your post with #hhweek.

Thanks!
