Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, Chi Zeta Omega Chapter Youth Leadership Institute in conjunction with Empower Our Families – CHIPP initiative, students can create an awareness campaign around hunger insecurity, share with family, friends, teachers and community leaders – create 15 sec video with music/graphics to share hunger insecurity appeal. Possibility to serve unhoused community for Thanksgiving-Hope Restored Missions Giving of Thanks Week | Support Our Homeless Neighbors.

Youth Leadership Institute is a 10 month, youth-led and highly interactive leadership development program aimed at empowering and engaging youth aged 11 to 13.

The Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP™) program provides weekend and holiday meals for children in grades K – 5 including siblings within their families. CHIPP is targeted to be Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date. The goal of the initiative is to dispense approximately 50 Power Packs on a weekly basis to students who reside at Family Gateway. Family Gateway is an emergency shelter that provides a family’s immediate needs for safety, housing, food, and other necessities. The 50-room shelter is located at a former Candlewood Suites property in Far North Dallas (Preston Road and President George Bush Turnpike).
