We are doing a (1) clothing drive: The Basic Needs Department is hosting a winter clothing drive, inviting students and the community to donate gently used winter and professional clothing. Donations will be accepted at two key events: on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Ceaser Chavez, and on Thursday, November 14, 2025, at the Mashouf Wellness Center. Additionally, we will accept donations on a rolling basis throughout the week at SSB 301 (Student Services Building). While we appreciate all contributions, please ensure that the clothing is in good condition, as we will not be able to accept items that are too worn. Join us in supporting those in need this winter season! (2)Screen Printing and tabling with 3rd street: The Basic Needs Department invites all students to participate in a fun screen-printing session, creating your very own tote bags featuring empowering messages from the HHAW – Basic Needs Initiative. This event is completely free and focuses on raising awareness about vital issues like food insecurity, housing insecurity, and financial instability that many students face. Plus, we’re partnering with 3rd Street to provide support for homeless and at-risk youth in our community. Stop by our table to learn more about how you can help, grab some resources, and connect with others who care about making a positive impact. We are doing a (3) Kitchen Demo: Join us for a hands-on kitchen demo that’s both informative and fun! Come learn how to create an affordable and nutritious meal using ingredients straight from our food pantry. During the demonstration, you’ll have the chance to see how easy it is to whip up healthy dishes with simple supplies. Plus, as a special treat, we’ll be raffling off a brand-new NutriBullet! Don’t miss your opportunity to boost your culinary skills and enter for a chance to take home this fantastic kitchen gadget. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting out, this event offers valuable tips for cooking on a budget while nourishing your body. Bring your friends and let’s cook up some deliciousness together! (4) we are doing a film screening of ‘Beyond the Bridge’ : https://sfsu.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=1655
