Monday, November 13th we will be tabling at the Student Center to bring awareness to the national event, and what we can do as a community. We'll also be advertising our week events.
Monday, November 13th in the evening, students, faculty, and staff will be preparing care bags for the homeless communities.
Tuesday, November 14th we will be tabling at the Student Center to bring awareness to the national event, and what we can do as a community. We'll also be advertising our week events. We will also have an Alumni Speaks interview. Mildred Williams a 2011 Alumnus will share her experience with homelessness and houselessness. She will discuss the difference between the two. Open discussions will follow.
Wednesday, November 15th: We are Feeding the Community featuring LaRayia Gaston of Lunch on Me from 12-2.
Wednesday, November 15th: Keynote speaker LaRayia Gaston is scheduled to speak to campus from 5-7 with a reception to follow.
Thursday, November 16th: Breakfast with Administration and LaRayia Gaston to discuss solutions for our campus community.
Friday, November 17th: Collect and disburse winter clothes and food from drive.

This project would serve 100 at-risk youth with a "Blessing Bag." Start Corporation with Louisiana Housing Corporation and McKinney-Vento will provide bags filled with a variety of snacks and easy to prepare meals during the Holiday Breaks.

Stuff the Pantry Food Drive and Privateer Pantry Open House - Help our UNO students by donating shelf-stable food and personal care items during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Donations can be made on Monday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 11:00 to 1:30 at our table in the University Center Atrium where we will also be providing information and resources to our UNO community. We also invite our students, faculty and staff to come see our Pantry and learn more about it at our Privateer Pantry Open House on Thursday, Nov. 16 from Noon - 2:00 in UC 252. Donations will also be accepted during this time.

UPPER DARBY - A free legal outreach will be held at Breaking Bread Community Shelter in Upper Darby on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Breaking Bread Community Shelter is at 107 Long Lane, Upper Darby, PA 19082.

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) attorneys, working with law students from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, will provide free legal services for low-income individuals experiencing homelessness.

LASP serves Delaware, Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties.

Legal issues the clinic may be able to address include custody & family, consumer/debt relief, Social Security, expungements & pardons , Medicaid, SNAP, housing, landlord-tenant, Veterans benefits, domestic violence, utilities (gas, electric, water), and more.

POTTSTOWN - Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (LASP) will hold its regular monthly outreach at Community Health & Dental Care (CDHC) in Coventry Mall on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Coventry Mall is at 351 W. Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. CHDC is located behind Boscov's.

Stop by LASP's table to learn how to obtain FREE legal services for civil matters, for individuals with low incomes and those who are experiencing homelessness.

Eligibility is determined by your monthly income, assets, family size and other factors.

This event is open to the community. You do NOT need to be a CHDC patient or register to attend!

Some of LASP’s legal services include custody, divorce (no asset), landlord-tenant, Social Security appeals, Unemployment Compensation appeals, bankruptcy, consumer debt, estate planning, domestic violence, veterans, and more.
