We plan on hosting a Sleepout Night to raise awareness on the homeless community in our county. We are going to ask people to get sponsors and the money raised will go towards our new overnight shelter and upgrades that are needing done to get it open. We are encouraging people to bring canned foods as well to donate to our local food pantries.

We will be bringing awareness to hunger and homelessness in the month of November by addressing this topic during a student-led mental health podcast episode. Students hosting the podcast will task their peers with donating canned foods. Canned foods will be brought to school and collected by students who are part of the mental health podcast group. All proceeds will be provided to a local organization that assists individuals dealing with homelessness.

It’s time to Fill That Truck! For this event, we set a table in front of a store, typically a grocery store like Kroger, and we hand out lists to people heading in to shop. That way when they walk out, they can drop off anything they picked up! We will also be collecting donations at this event.
