“Let’s Talk Basic Needs”Monday, November 14, 2022 11:00am -12:00pm & 2:00pm-3:00pm
Come learn about the Basic Needs team and our programs! These sessions will focus on promoting an understanding of our housing and food programs while giving participants the opportunity to meet the team behind the magic. Participants can ask questions and learn about CSUN resources.

“Hungry to Learn: Understanding, Supporting, and Empowering Students” Tuesday, November 15, 2022 2:00pm – 3:30 pm
Join us to watch part of the moving 2020 film Hungry to Learn. This documentary follows four college students as they deal with hunger and homelessness in their attempt to change their lives for the better and navigate the demands of college life. Following the screening, CSUN students will share their own experiences, and staff will discuss strategies and avenues to support students’ housing security needs.

CSUN Pop-Up Pantry Wednesday, November 16, 2022 1:00pm -5:00pm
Join us at the CSUN Pop- Pantry! In collaboration with the CSUN Food Pantry, the Pop-Up Pantry will distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to our campus community on Wednesday, November 16th from 1pm-5pm. Students will receive a grocery bag filled with non-perishables items and fresh fruits and vegetables. This event is open to all CSUN students, staff and faculty! Come see us at the CSUN Food Pantry located in Laurel Hall (next to Sagebrush Hall on Plummer St.)

“Harvest at Home”: A collaboration between the CSUN CalFresh Outreach Team and Institute for Sustainability Thursday, November 17, 2022 11:00am-1:00pm
Join the CSUN CalFresh Outreach Team and the Institute for Sustainability to learn how to Harvest at Home! This event will educate participants on how they can utilize their CalFresh Food benefits to purchase seeds and food producing plants. Participants will learn how to grow herbs and other small plants in a limited space or apartment setting! To sustain their garden, participants will also be able take seedlings home with them! Don’t miss out on this amazing event!

“Planning Healthy Meals” Friday, November 18, 2022 12:00pm-1:00pm
This event will focus on learning about the benefits of meal planning, including how it can help to save time and money! We will discuss the basics of planning meals using the MyPlate guidelines, and practice planning healthy meals and determine how much food to purchase. Lastly, we will identify ways to address common challenges to meal planning and possible solutions.
