Depaul USA is a national homeless services nonprofit organization operating in ten major cities to address the immediate homelessness crises by providing stable and safe housing. In addition, we are one of the only national organizations spotlighting that an estimated 68,000 college-aged students are currently experiencing homelessness in the United States.
To raise awareness for this growing crisis, this Fall, we will be holding a series of music & wellness festivals called QuietFest on or near college campuses that will also serve as fundraisers to support these efforts.
Our first series of events will occur in Saint Louis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York. The festival in Los Angeles is on Saturday, November 11th, on the grounds of St. Vincent School, a few blocks from the USC campus. It will take place from 4 pm to 9 pm. The festival’s headliner will be a large-scale silent disco with additional on-site activities such as yoga, live music, meditation, food activations, raffles, etc. The wellness portion of the event will include workshops + vendors across the spectrum of the local wellness community. Each city’s event will have its own unique schedule and local flavor.
ABOUT DEPAUL – LOS ANGELES
Depaul USA – Los Angeles is a non-profit assisting unhoused and housing-insecure individuals. We operate Casa Milagrosa, a day resource center. Through radical hospitality, we provide a warm and welcoming refuge to homeless people near MacArthur Park. Up to 150 men and women visit daily to receive services that help them overcome their situation.
Our next project in Los Angeles is our Dax program. The Dax program addresses college students’ immediate homelessness crises by providing stable and safe housing. It provides students with various services that support a successful path toward continuing and completing their studies. Services include housing, case management, counseling referrals, transportation, food stipends, textbook assistance, job training, financial literacy, and more.
