For National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week 2019, PAYO plans to involve the entire Youngstown State campus in various ways. From November 16-24, we are encouraging student organizations to participate in community service opportunities focusing on hunger and homelessness in the Youngstown community. PAYO will be both offering volunteer opportunities as well as supporting student organizations that find their own service project or location. Additionally, PAYO will again promote a campus-wide canned food collection benefiting the YSU Student Food Pantry as well as Second Harvest Food Bank. The week will end with an optional 30 hour famine to bring awareness to and allow students a glimpse of what true hunger feels like.
