The Lord’s Place will host its 14th Annual Ending Homelessness Breakfast, Clearing the Way, on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM. The virtual event, taking place during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, is provided free for all to enjoy as a result of community support.
The Lord’s Place is clearing the way for its clients, removing obstacles in their paths to lead them to housing, employment, and restoration of dignity and a new life. The Lord’s Place is clearing the way for building a new client-services center that will bring staff, programs and services under one roof to ensure more individuals and families get home for good. The Lord’s Place is clearing the way for a new tomorrow after the pandemic.
Chaired by Kurt Gehring, chief executive officer of Gehring Group | Bentek, the impactful breakfast will feature thematic speeches and real-life stories to provide attendees with a deep understanding of The Lord’s Place mission in action. Awards will be presented to individuals in the Palm Beach County community who are catalysts for positive change in the agency’s services to eradicate homelessness. Anna Mann De Peyster, a philanthropist and friend of The Lord’s Place, will receive the Ending Homelessness Award. Unsung Hero will be awarded to Daryl Houston, vice president for community impact and leadership for the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
Community partners and individuals have already come together to raise $125,000! Please join us for this free virtual event, and make a donation to meet our $250,000 goal. Your support and generosity helps remove the obstacles faced by families and individuals as they journey out of homelessness.
The funds raised support The Lord’s Place mission to break the cycle of homelessness for men, women, and children in Palm Beach County, FL, through innovative, compassionate and effective services. Programs and services include: providing supportive and graduate housing at ten locations; operating social enterprises including three Joshua Thrift Stores, Joshua Catering & Deli, and Joshua Treasures; providing job training and placement services, clinical and care coordination, and community engagement services; and a highly-successful reentry program helping men and women transitioning from incarceration.
