I am hosting a “Feed the Knight” Green Bag drive—a two-week effort to support our campus pantry and raise awareness about student food and resource insecurity. Faculty and Staff who sign up (starting 11/04) will get a tote bag (or two) to take home and add an item or two each time they shop or fill their bag all at once. Registration is still open, but so far, we have 27 people signed up (within 2 days). Bags will be returned to me on 11/21. I am also hosting a Winter Clothing Swap on 11/19 for everyone. Collaborating with our WVC Foundation, we are also hosting a month-long food drive where staff, students, and community members can donate. Collaborating with our Student Grants Center, we created 80 meal kits on 11/03 for students to take when they visit our campus pantries, hoping to create more in the week of basic needs awareness week. Collaborating with TRIO, they will have a fun competition in their department on 11/19 to support our campus pantries as well. I’ll also be tabling all day on 11/18, giving out information on resources available (like SEAG/SSEH) while handing out popcorn.
