Throughout the week, YHHAP will be having a food, clothing, and item donation drive. We’ll ask individuals to donate items local shelters/soup kitchens have noticed a need for (menstrual hygiene products, dental items, socks, blankets, backpacks, etc.). We’ll also culminate with an event we call the YHHAP FAST, where we ask students to donate their meal swipes for a day, effectively raising around $10k which we will later distribute to 2 or 3 local organizations battling H&H. There will also be advocacy happening throughout the week, in the form of a thought-out advocacy campaign with posters plastered all over campus, a Humans of New Haven style campaign on social media, and a series of opinion editorials in campus publications.
