KEYSTONE FIRST LUNCH & LEARN (FEATURING “SPENT”)
NOVEMBER 18, 2020 — 12:00PM
As a part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Bethesda Project and Keystone First invite members of the Philadelphia community to participate in a virtual discussion that addresses the realities that many individuals experiencing poverty face.

According to Pew Charitable Trusts, Philadelphia is the poorest city among America’s largest cities, and is an indicator that affects many aspects of city life. Some economists predict the poverty rate in the US will dramatically increase due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to the discussion on Wednesday, November 18 at noon, participants are asked to complete Spent, a tool created by Urban Ministries of Durham (NC) in partnership with McKinney in 2011. The goal of the 30-minute virtual simulation: Start with $1,000 and make the decisions necessary to reach the end of the month with something still left in your pocket. Sounds easy, right? We wish you luck.

In this online discussion, after participants complete Spent, we will seek to break down misconceptions, cultivate community connection, and understand our collective responsibility – in ending the harmful cycle of poverty.

YPAB QUIZZO
NOVEMBER 20, 2020 — 8:00PM
More than bad things happen in Philadelphia, according to Quizzo Master and Young Professional Advisory Board (YPAB) Member Leo Vaccaro. Quizzo is one of those good things that happen in Philadelphia - one thing that brings excitement, joy, and potentially a $100 Amazon gift card. Join us online for a quizzo event benefitting the work of Bethesda Project.

You can also register solo and join a team the day of, or sign up with a team in mind! A few days prior to the event, a Bethesda Project staff member will send each participant a link to the Quizzo Zoom. Teams will connect through individual Zoom chats and/or video calls. You don't need to have a team prior to signing up and can be paired with individuals the day of the event.

Purchase your tickets online here: bethesdaproject.ticketleap.com/virtualquizzo/

We will be raising money, food and awareness for the Homeless in our community. We plan to host an event in December to distribute all the items raised during the month of November. The event, Christmas in the Park, will be on Saturday, December 19th from noon until 2pm. We are hoping to fund food trucks to feed the homeless and pass out back packs with essential hygiene and health items. Any help and information would be appreciated
