We plan to hold a different event every day of the week. On our campus, there is a rock that everyone paints. We plan to paint it on Monday to kick off the week. Then, throughout the rest of the week, we plan to hold events such as building care packages, a movie night, drawing with chalk on main walkways, and a trivia night. Our goal is to spread awareness on our campus.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 7am at Fletcher’s Cove is our fourth annual Run 4 MK. In partnership with Bishop’s Events, we’re coming together to run in support of ending chronic homelessness in Washington, DC 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏿!
By participating in person or virtually, you’ll support Miriam’s Kitchen’s essential programs and services. The run is scheduled near Veterans Day and at the start of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (November 16-22, 2025). These dates align closely with the heart of our work and the people we serve.
Run 4 MK honors the legacy of Waldon Adams, our late friend, former guest, and community leader. Waldon was an avid runner—who completed more than 80 races, including 15 marathons. He was also a passionate advocate who helped others find safe and stable housing. We will celebrate his life and impact, five years after his passing.
The race takes place at a meaningful location; within the area our Outreach Team regularly serves. It’s a chance to connect with the community, meet other passionate advocates, and take action for housing justice.
Whether you run, walk, or cheer from afar your participation in this race brings community together. All proceeds go to support Miriam's Kitchen in our mission to end chronic homelessness in DC.

County, City and Non-Profit Leaders will be coming together 11/17-11/19 at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts for a Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Statewide Collaborative Symposium called THREADS 2025. THREADS is a free, three-day gathering for California leaders, advocates, and service providers working to end homelessness and support people with serious mental illness or substance use challenges. We’ll explore new ways to create housing stability, improve care, and build lasting change — together. 💬 What to Expect:

We are planning a sandwich drive where we will prepare sandwiches for individuals experiencing homelessness, along with providing hygiene products, socks, and clothing. In addition, we’re organizing a turkey drive to support families in our community during the holiday season. On the final day of our initiative, we hope to serve hot meals to members of the community. This effort is part of our SEED CARES Initiative, a program unique to SEED LA that focuses on giving back and supporting those in need.
